About the Nightfall: First Contact project
Nightfall is an addon for the videogame Legend of Grimrock. I've created it in two languages, Czech and English. It is available on the Steam Workshop or alternatively you can download it through the Nexus Mods site.

Nightfall is an unfinished project from the years 1993-1996 developed for the Atari ST, pictures are included lower on this page. The source code written on an assembler is still preserved and is functional on the Steem emulator. Now, in the year 2012, a game called Legend of Grimrock came out and I am outright thrilled by it. The trill was even bigger after the LoG creators released a level editor. That's when I took bunch of 20 year old papers from my drawer with sketches of various dungeons and made new Nightfall in the Grimrock editor.
What was supposed to be in Nightfall
We didn't want just a simple copy of Dungeon Master, which was our idol and also an example, together with Chaos Strike Back. The game was supposed to include variety of different underground enviroments (with 3 of them being thought out). I had more of them in mind: about three small caverns, two towers, a castle + it's underground, and new and old underground of the Dark Lord. Movement on the outdoor areas was eventually cut due to the difficulty, and traveling between locations was supposed to work with the use of a map. (How it's done in Drakensang: River of Time). The bigger part of dungeons was also supposed to have puzzles in the style of DM or CHSB. The rest was planned to be focused on combat and story.
